Food Basket Project – Because Hunger Is No Longer Temporary

In Gaza, hunger is no longer an emergency. It has become a daily reality for thousands of families, especially amid war, the loss of income sources, and scarcity of food items. Imagine a home with nothing to cook, a mother who doesn’t know what she will feed her children tomorrow, and a family that goes to bed thinking only about how to get through with the least possible losses. From here, the Food Basket Project was launched to provide the most basic elements of resilience: food that is enough for the family for days, distributed with dignity, and reaching those in need without delay.

• Because hunger cannot wait.
• Because hundreds of thousands of families live without a stable income and cannot afford basic food items.
• Because current conditions have made even the simplest needs—like flour, oil, and canned goods—hard to obtain.
• Because food is the first thing a person needs to continue, to endure, to live.
⸻ What does the basket contain?
We prepare baskets that contain basic items sufficient for a family for approximately two weeks, depending on the number of members. They usually include:
• Flour or rice
• Vegetable oil
• Sugar, lentils, beans
• Canned goods (tuna, fava beans, halawa)
• Tea or milk
• Sometimes basic cleaning supplies
The goal is not merely to distribute food, but to reduce a family’s sense of helplessness and give them some breathing space amid all this pressure.
